Some good and bad news. The baby is doing well, and so is my wife. The bad news is that the recent flooding in New England did hit us, if only lightly, and some water got into the floor of the basement. Haven’t had water in all the time I’ve lived here, but the water table in the entire town actually rose up above the floor, so the water slowly worked its way in, ~1 inch in the deep spots.

However, with all this cast iron sitting on the floor, I had to do something. I had the entire shop put into storage until we finish moving. So, I’m entirely shopless at the moment. Once we move, I’ll be back in the game, but first, need to sell the Condo!

(I know its been a while since I posted, but I’ve been incredibly busy, blah blah blah. Same old you hear from every blogger. I’ve got 3 projects in progress, and I hope to have some updates posted RSN.)

I alluded to this in a previous post when I sold my motorcycle, but finally, my Sawstop has arrived!

Unfortunately, I’ve got a bad case of Martian Death Flu, so it was all I could do to pop the saw into my shed and put the old one up on Woodnet forsale.

Although my Grizzly works wonderfully, and has provided many years of fine service, I’m letting it go for $850 Pickup/Cart-out in Watertown, MA.

And waiting in the shed for me…

So I’ve been busy at work, getting ready for a small vacation in Maine. I spent a few days at the Cliff House in beautiful Ogunquit. There was much pool lounging, beach visiting, and wonderful food to be had. I think I’m _still_ digesting.

I also managed a side trip up to hand tool mecca…

Yes, thats me, giddy as a schoolgirl!

Originally I had intended to just get a pair of skew chisels in 3/8″, which I did, but my wife insisted I also get the 9.5 block plane I was fondling during checkout. I mean, she insisted, so how could I not?

Back to regularly scheduled posts soon, I promise!
